Portrait Reveal

Terms of Service

Last updated 11 August 2026

By creating a Portrait Reveal account, you agree to these terms.

What Portrait Reveal is

Portrait Reveal is a platform for sharing client photo galleries, designing wall art and taking orders. It is designed for one photographer per account — a single login, not a multi-staff tool.

Your account and your clients

You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter about your business and your clients, and for keeping your own account credentials secure. Your clients access their galleries via a private link you send them, optionally protected by a password you set — they never create a Portrait Reveal account. You’re responsible for obtaining any consent you need from your clients to upload and share their photographs through the platform.

Trial and subscription

  • New accounts get a 14-day free trial — no card required to start.
  • After the trial, continued access requires an active paid subscription, billed monthly via Stripe.
  • If the trial ends without a subscription, studio access is limited to Billing and the studio data is retained for 90 days before permanent deletion.
  • Pricing is shown on the Billing page in your account before you’re charged, and may include a limited-time discounted rate for early signups — the discounted rate, once applied, holds for as long as you stay subscribed, even if the standard rate changes later for new signups.

Client payments through Stripe

  • Client payments are optional. To use them, you must connect and maintain your own eligible Stripe account.
  • You must select the country where your photography business is legally established. That country sets the studio’s catalogue and checkout currency and cannot be changed after Stripe is connected.
  • Client payments are direct charges to your connected Stripe account. You are the seller and merchant of record; Portrait Reveal does not hold client funds or receive full card or bank details.
  • You are responsible for your prices, taxes, fulfilment, cancellations, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, client communications and compliance with consumer and other laws that apply to your sales.
  • Stripe determines payment-method eligibility, verification requirements, processing fees, payout timing and any holds or reserves. Methods such as Afterpay or Clearpay are not guaranteed for every account, currency, client or order.
  • By connecting Stripe and using client payments, you also agree to the applicable Stripe Connected Account Agreement and Stripe Services Agreement for your account country.
  • If you require online payment, an order with an amount due is not submitted until Stripe confirms payment. A zero-total order can still be confirmed without a payment.

Portrait Reveal subscription cancellation and refunds

You can cancel any time from the Billing page — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then. We don’t offer refunds for partial billing periods. If a payment fails, you get a short grace period to update your card before access is affected.

What happens to your data if you cancel or do not subscribe

Your galleries, photos, orders, and settings are kept for 90 days after cancellation or the end of an unconverted trial, in case you change your mind or want to come back. After that window, everything is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. If you want your data removed sooner, you can permanently delete all account data in the account page.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Portrait Reveal to:

  • Upload content you don’t have the right to share, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Attempt to access another studio’s account, data, or client galleries.
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent limits or security controls on the service.
  • Use the service for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates this, with notice where practical.

Service availability

We aim to keep Portrait Reveal available and reliable, but don’t guarantee uninterrupted access — the service depends on third-party infrastructure (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Resend) that is outside our direct control. We’ll do our best to communicate any planned downtime or significant incidents.

Liability

Portrait Reveal is provided on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses (like lost business or lost profits) arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be excluded under NZ consumer law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
