Why Portrait Reveal exists
Portrait Reveal turns a passive online gallery into a wall art sales experience by showing clients their portraits on their own wall in true-size. You can avoid awkward in-person sales sessions while still effectively upselling and don’t need to change your workflow — Portrait Reveal also sells digital photos and other products, takes online payments and provides digital downloads.
Portrait Reveal also allows clients to design multi-piece wall art collections however traditional IPS software such as ProSelect is a desktop install, US$29–49 a month with a minimum 6-month commitment. Portrait Reveal runs in any browser via an online link and is only US$14.99 a month, cancel anytime.
The real problem
A size like 30" × 40" doesn't mean anything without context. Clients struggle to judge scale, imagine the frame, or see how a collection will look in their home, so they often choose digitals or something small.
Multi-photo displays can create beautiful, high-value orders, but they are difficult to explain with a price list. Clients have to work out which images belong together, what sizes will suit the space, and how each piece should be arranged.
Most online galleries are built to display photos, not provide a guided wall art sales experience. They show the images, but they don't guide clients toward canvases, framed prints, or larger wall collections.

The client takes a photo of their wall, measures and marks the wall, then watches your portraits appear on it; framed, matted, arranged as a collection and true sized. Client are guided through wall art options first, before moving onto any digitals, other products or promotional items (such as a free print) you offer to encourage higher value sales.

Why this exists
Portrait Reveal was made by Laura Ridley Photography to use in their own business. Existing online galleries do not effectively upsell wall art or sell high-value multi-piece collections while IPS software doesn’t sell online and is expensive, so a bespoke solution was created.

Yes, and most do. The whole client experience — the reveal, photographing their wall, placing artwork, ordering — is built mobile-first, because that's where a family sitting on their sofa will actually open your link.
No, stock wall photos are available.
Yes, use it during an IPS session and design wall art together. Just remember to ask your clients to send you a photo of their wall(s). You can display the wall art on a second screen while you design it on the other. The same gallery can then be sent home as a password protected private link if they want to talk it over and look again later.
Yes. Send the private gallery link and they can go through the reveal, try artwork on their wall, and confirm an order without you present. The order lands in your dashboard and you're emailed straight away. You can take payment through Stripe or invoice through your normal process. You can automatically provide a link to download any digital photos ordered or self-fulfill.
Yes. Connect your own Stripe account and choose whether clients may pay online, must pay online, or simply submit an order for you to invoice. Stripe securely shows the payment methods eligible for that client and order, including cards and Afterpay or Clearpay where available. Portrait Reveal takes no commission and supports New Zealand dollars (NZD), Australian dollars (AUD), US dollars (USD), Canadian dollars (CAD) and British pounds (GBP).
Yes. Digital packages and other printed products can sit alongside the wall art with your own pricing. Wall art is what the experience is optimised to upsell.
A watermark can be applied when you upload a gallery. You can change the watermark text and opacity.
It take minutes to get set up. Frames, canvas sizes and multi-photo collection layouts come preloaded, so you can add your own pricing and start straight away, then add and adjust products as desired.
Everything — there's only one plan. You can run up to 50 galleries at any one time, with up to 150 photos in each. Galleries you've finished with can be removed to free up space, so the limit is about how many are live at once. This should be plenty for portrait photographers but contact us if this becomes a problem and we'll find a solution.
Yes, from your billing page, with no contract and no cancellation fee. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and your galleries and orders stay available for 90 days afterwards in case you come back.
